PLC & Control Engineer

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Design and develop PLC programming, Robotic Programming and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for automation machines/equipment
  • Implement customer requirements into the software development and hardware qualifications
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot interface between hardware and software to achieve operation, functionality and performance of the overall machine system
  • Interface with customers on each phase of the electrical and software development process right up to equipment buyoff including post technical support
  • Provide software support assistance and evaluation towards solution upon customer modification request in house or onsite  
  • Undergo machine application integration, programming test run and FAT
  • Responsible for electrical documentation creation of drawings such as Electrical Circuit & Schematic Drawings, Electrical Panel Designs, Input/Output list, Alarm list, Interlock list & Control Sequence documentations, Components Bill of Materials (BOM) list
  • Liaise with sub-contractor on electrical wiring task, project management and coordination to ensure on time completion of project
  • Identify, develop and implement automation system and program changes to support manufacturing processes, investigations and continuous improvement activities
  • Provide input and advice to the manufacturing / commissioning teams during build and installation of the project on-site
  • Provide Operation Manual on Machine Operation Guide and HMI Operation documentation
  • Deliver control and safety systems which comply with the requirements of the machinery directive and appropriate national and international standards
  • Undertake other related tasks and duties as assigned by superior


Job Requirements: 

  • Required at least Bachelor’s Degree/Postgraduate in Engineering (preferably Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronics)
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWork
  • Knowledge in Electrical & Pneumatic Circuitry/Schematic design software and motion product
  • Knowledge in the practical application of mechanical, electrical and electronic
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical / machine regulations & directives
  • Knowledge in automation and vision inspection is an added advantage
  • Experience in Machine Building would be an added advantage
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in related field
