Job Responsibilities:-

Summary

  • Reports to Managing Director and CEO
  • Being first point of contact and responsible to service and oversee primarily PR account


Servicing

  • Responsible for qualitative and quantitative targets within the PR group
  • In co-operation with the Managing Director involved in budgeting, revenue planning in accordance with company’s forecast planning as per WPP standards
  • Guides and leads Account Executives and Consultants in servicing accounts and trains staff to effectively develop new business proposals primarily in PR accounts
  • Leads and services key accounts within the PR practice group & develops long-term relationship with clients at a senior level
  • Makes strategic recommendations and presentations to support clients’ brand equity and creates appropriate media strategies based on briefs and directives from clients
  • Provides recommendations to clients in a proactive manner to maximize communications efforts and/or anticipate issues in order to achieve business results
  • Oversees day-to-day work of the team and solve client issues and concerns
  • In cooperation with the Managing Director identify talents and needs for training to assure high quality of servicing output towards clients
  • Responsible for quarterly and annual review presentations to client
  • Actively develop relationship with key clients and be seen as a key subject matter expert in PR account


New Business Development
 

  • First choice of contact and lead for PR accounts
  • Responsible to maintain a weekly balance of organic growth of client servicing revenue (30% of new businesses)
  • Where appropriate, develop joint proposals with Managing Director for new business deriving either from or outside the BM network
  • Cultivating and building relationship with members of the media and PR Industry


General

  • Keeps abreast on market trends in the PR sector, client needs and competitive offers
  • Attend networking events, seminars and conferences, including out-of-hours, as required to maintain personal professional development and to build networking and new business contacts
  • Supports in providing professional development of the team (internal training and identifying external training for staff), regular feedback and assess performances ensuring smooth flow and adhering to professionalism


Requirements:
 

  • 30 years and above (indicative)
  • Tertiary Education preferably in Economics, Social Science, Mass Communication, Journalism, Media or equivalent tertiary education
  • A minimum of 8 years work experience in PR stakeholder communication with experience in leading teams
  • Fluent in written & spoken English. Chinese or Bahasa Melayu is an advantage
  • Entrepreneurial skills an advantage
  • Experience in running a P&L, balance sheet and good skills for new business development includes collaboration with integrated communications
  • Good communicator and socially approachable yet firm when it comes to making decisions
  • Focused to solve conflicts and disputes
  • Broad interest in current and global affairs
  • Capability to live up to essence Burson-Marsteller requirements to be proactive, take ownership and capable of problem-solving
