Campus to Career at GMI: Connecting Students with Industry

More than 100 students participated in the recent Campus to Career at German Malaysia Institution Career Talk & Industry Visitation, gaining valuable insights into Penang’s industrial landscape and future career opportunities.

Invest Penang shared an overview of Penang’s growing ecosystem, highlighting key industries, in-demand skills, and emerging career pathways. The session helped students better understand how their academic journey aligns with market needs.

A special highlight was the industry sharing by ams OSRAM, where students were introduced to intelligent sensors, LED, and opto-semiconductor innovations. The session provided practical insight into career pathways within a global technology leader and what employers look for in future engineering talent.

The programme concluded with a lab visitation across GMI’s Computer & Information, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering departments. Industry partners witnessed firsthand how hands-on learning is embedded into GMI’s curriculum to equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills.
