28 Apr 2020

Productivity is a personal measure that we are able to manage our time and energy. Productivity is the relevant output of an individual in a certain period. By relevant output, it means working on the right  things. When you focus on relevant output, you get the right things done. Things that improve your career, business, organization. Consistent output is what drives results.

“Productivity is never an accident, it is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort” – Paul J. Meyer

  • Stop Multitasking
While we tend to think of the ability to multitask as an important skill for increasing efficiency, the opposite may in fact be true. Psychologists have found attempting to do several tasks at once can result in lost time and productivity.

We are only able process a certain amount of information at a time. Multitasking can jeopardize the quality of your work. If possible, concentrate on one task before moving to the next.

  • Play music that is suitable for work
Often times you need different types of music for different tasks, as the best option depends on what you’re doing. Not every type of music will deliver the same positive results in different situations. With the right music, you can get more productive at work.  What music is best for productivity?

  • Plan ahead
Plan it at least one day earlier including the possible timeframe for completion, make a checklist.  Segregate importance & urgent tasks, organize it and design the sequence.

  • Focus & Focus
Be disciplined, concentrate on the task that has been planned earlier, avoid any distraction unless it is urgent. Also, a quiet environment is very important to focus. You can use focus applications and Pomodoro technique to help you boost your productivity.

  • Morning Workouts
The biggest and most obvious reason to work out in the morning is simple: exercise gives you energy. Exercise improves circulation and unleashes endorphins that leave you feeling energized and ready to start your day. It gives you a chance to clear your mind and remove stress that slows you down throughout the day.

So, here’s the ultimate list of techniques you should learn to boost productivity. Pick the techniques that work for you and make them your daily habits. As time goes, you’ll find yourself being a lot more productive.
